I have a Fanuc 6mb system with tape reader fitted to my Bridgeport BPC 320H. I can send a program into memory with a DNC program using the edit key then the read button but how do I drip feed large programs? |

The Fanuc controls can load to the machine's memory via the RS232 port. To DNC on the machine, you must use the tape reader (TAPE Mode) on the machine. You can by-pass the reader input and put a BTR (behind the tape reader) on the machine. This BTR will emulate the reader and put the machine in TAPE Mode. The BTR connects back to the PC via an RS232 cable. Basically going from serial to parallel if you will. From there you can DNC as needed from the PC using any CNC communication package.
