If you are trying to take pictures of snow and your pictures come out dark, then typically you should try this:
Use your camera's Exposure Compensation setting to add 1 to 2 stops to its meetering.
After you take a picture, look at the image hystogram and if it is all the way to the right then it is probably too overesposed so dial back the Exposure Compensation. Also, if your camera has the ability to "blink" over exposed (also known as "blown out") areas of the image, then you can visually see that.
Also, remember that the cold will "zap" your battery life, so keep a spaire warm somehow, like in an inside pant/shrit pocket. |
