Any suggestions on high speed machining with small tools?
Speeds and feeds for tools as small as 25 microns (.001")
Spindle speed as high as 40,000. Stainless steel, nickel? |

I have had good success with end mills down to .015" dia. I run them at 6000 (my machines max rpm) I use coolant, and feed 3-6 ipm, the depth of cut is usually around .003-.005" I would recommend your max. rpm, and .25 - 1 ipm, .0005 depth of cut for .001" dia. Try looking on niagracutter.com and look in their techincal section, i have found it very helpful. You also want to make sure you are using carbide for rigidity. _________________ --------------------------
