We upload and download programes all the time with text in the programes. We will identify tool type and dimensions to be achieved. Seems to simplify setups.

Problem is this machine wil not show it. When transfer is done in either direction, text is gone.

Is this an option that I need to buy and if it is what do you call it?

Is it just a bit that needs to be changed or am I needing boards and etc>>
Any thoughts out there. It is an old machine mid 1980's. Crying or Very sad

Do you put your coments in ( ) ? Also some,(I did say some guys) Fanucs require the coments to be all caps.

Also what model OM (a, b or c)?

Yes we put text in (). Controler does not have () keys but we do not programe at machine.

It is a model C controller.

I will try the caps though, never thought of that.

Check to ensure that the machine is cummucating in ASC rather than EIA. Years ago a had the same problem with K & T EB's that would only show text messages while in ASC II.

Have come to find out this machine is a model A controler that was ment for tape reader not RS232 comunication.

Even with the tape reader books say outright that Text in program will be ignored.

Has any one overcome this?

Tried turning on TVON and got a tape error.
Tried ISO and iea and still comments ar stripped.
Thinking I might have to give up on this one.

The OTA control does not support comments.
