When we needed to tell our Okuma Lathe, on a grooving operation,
that we wanted to dwell for one revolution then get off we used:

Code:
G73 X1.0 Z-2.0 F0.004 D0.1 E0.5


E=time elapse for dwell in seconds (0.5=1/2 second)

We also were told to use:

Formula is 60/Spindle speed = one rev of dwell

And:

A short dwell, say "G4 F1." at most spindle speeds this is sufficient. If going slowly, you might need more, if really chuccing along at say 4k or so, a lesser amount.
