Date: 3/28/07
Machine Type: MA / MX Series Horizontal
Control Type: OSP 7000M
Trouble: Turning off Inductosyn spec Code
1. With the machine in standard NC operation mode, push the SYSTEM RESET
button and release it. Immediately push the INSTALL START switch and hold it
for approximately 10 seconds.
2. The CRT should display the = prompt (OS MODE)
3. Place the D-disk in the floppy drive
4. Type in the following:
FD0:BPIPM and press <WRITE>
The screen should display the following:
BACKUP PIP M ^ V3.00-A $100000-$14FFF ($2000-$2FFF………..
OKUMA 1995.02.28
>U … Update PBU & MPB file >R … Recover
>S … Store PBU & MPB file >B … Backup PBU file
>C … Copy >Q … Quit
5. It is now time to copy spec code file from FR0 to MD0. At this prompt type in the
following:
C(sp)FR0C:MNCS000A.SPC,MD0: and press <WRITE> the control should let
you know that the file copy is complete
6. Press “Q” and press <WRITE> (quit)
7. Next you will need to unprotect the file for patching…..At the = prompt type in
the following:
PROT(sp)MD0:MNCS000A.SPC;C and press <WRITE> the control should
display “file protect cancel finish”
8. Now that the file is copied and unprotected you can use the patch command to
turn off the spec code. To patch out the spec…..At the = prompt type in the
following:
PATCH(sp)MD0:MNCS000A.SPC,PN: and press <WRITE>
At the > prompt type in the following:
S(sp)0 and press <WRITE>
9. At this point the machine screen should change to the “patch” display.

F0 ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ………….
10. Now you will need to enter the address of the spec you would like to change.
NC Spec Code starts at line 20, all machines will not have the same code
however, for MX / MA-Series Horizontals Inductosyn codes are listed in red, and
should not be different addresses on any machine. Line 20 addresses are as
follows:
FB = 20 21 = 21 41 = 22 3B = 23 00 = 24 52 = 25
82 = 26 23 = 27 00 = 28 00 = 29 20 = 2A 04 = 2B
88 = 2C 50 = 2D 21 = 2E 00 = 2F
After reviewing the “DATA CARD” you can determine that the Inductosyn for B
axis is at address “2E”. To access this address you will need to type upper case H,
@2E
To change the word data, type in your new hex code. For this example you would
enter 01.
11. Type Q and press <WRITE>to quit at the > prompt type Q again and press
<WRITE>, the = prompt will appear.
12. The spec code file should now be protected. To protect this file at the = prompt
type in the following:
PROT(sp)MD0:MNCS000A.SPC and press <WRITE>
NOTE: You must review the Management Data Card for the correct spec code file
name and the correct address. All spec codes are written in hex, and you must make
sure you only change the bit you need to change.
NOTE: Once you have changed the spec code the actual position page will display
CONTROL SOFT this is just a reminder that the spec code has been changed.
13. To return the machine to normal operation, unprotect the spec file in MD0 and
delete it from MD0. To do this; simply boot the machine in OS mode. At the =
prompt type in the following:
PROT(sp)MD0:MNCS000A.SPC;C and press <WRITE> the control should
display “file protect cancel finish”. Bring the machine up in normal NC mode. Go
to EDIT mode and press DELETE and type in the following:
MD0:MNCS000A.SPC
14. Turn machine off and back on all specs should be restored. |
