Be in your booth and ready to greet attendees when the show opens. Early visitors obviously have a good reason to attend and will be some of your best prospects!

Stay in your booth until the show closes. Those last minute visitors are also often your hottest prospects.

Don’t eat or drink in your booth.

Don’t read in your booth.

Don't engage in extended phone conversations, texting, or work on your laptop while in your booth. Take your cell phone or laptop to a lounge area, if possible.

Don’t overstaff your booth so that attendees cannot come in.

Take breaks every 2 hours if possible. If you’re working the booth alone, hook up with a nearby exhibitor to watch each other’s booth while you take a short break.

Don’t sit in your booth waiting for attendees to approach. Always appear ready to help.

Wear comfortable shoes!

Greet people at the edge of the aisle instead of from the back of your booth.

Don’t use booth furnishings as a barrier between you and your prospect. Your booth is your place of business for two or three days. Encourage prospects to come in.

Wear your name badge on your right side so that the badge faces the attendee’s direction while shaking hands.

Don't ask questions that can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no". Instead of "Can I help you?", try "What brought you to the show?" Or ask them what their company manufactures or what they purchase.

If the attendee is not the decision maker for your particular service, ask who in the company is.

Network with your fellow exhibitors. They can be some of your best prospects. But don’t monopolize their time. Back off if another prospect approaches.
