Our CNC at die shop pecks all our carbide tooling. Recently a newly hired operator stated that on all material that are not gummy, to run carbide drill with no pecking.

If you know someone who has a Lathe with at least 60 inch length and has a steady rest, it can be done very easily.
Just make a collar to go over the bat, then chuck up the bat , put the collar on ... |
